Best WordPress Helpdesk Plugin for Plugin Sellers, Stores and Agencies

Tutorials & Insights

Fluent Support is the best WordPress helpdesk plugin for most plugin sellers, stores and agencies. It costs $129 a year for one site with unlimited agents, and Pro shows the customer's orders and past tickets inside each conversation. SupportCandy suits a small WooCommerce shop that wants a lifetime licence, and JS Help Desk has the strongest free version.
I installed the free versions of Fluent Support, SupportCandy, Awesome Support and JS Help Desk on a fresh WordPress 7.1.4 site. I sent the same two tickets through each customer form and answered one as an agent, then priced all four against Help Scout and Zendesk for a three person team.

Fluent Support comes from WPManageNinja, the team behind Fluent Forms, which I run on this blog. It keeps tickets in its own database tables, has 10,000+ active installs and is rated 92 out of 100 from 69 reviews on WordPress.org.
Setup took two screens: a business name, a sender email and the page for the customer portal. Both tickets went through the portal form with a subject, a rich text box, attachments and a priority field.
On the agent side, the refund ticket showed Maya's first ticket under Previous Conversations, so I could see her open licence problem before replying.

The customer sees a private thread with a Support Staff label on my reply and can answer from the same page. Workflows, saved replies and ticket bookmarks carried Pro screens in the free version, and the dashboard pushes the upgrade from every page.

| Plan | List price | Sites | Email piping |
|---|---|---|---|
| Single Site | $129/yr | 1 | 10 business inboxes |
| Agency | $249/yr | 5 | 50 business inboxes |
| 50 Sites | $399/yr | 50 | 500 business inboxes |
There is no lifetime plan on the pricing page. During the Halloween 2026 sale the single site plan showed $90 for the first year, and last Black Friday WPManageNinja ran a flat 40% off Fluent Support from 17 Nov to 15 Dec 2025. Renewals bill at the list price.

SupportCandy has the same 10,000+ installs and the best score here: 98 out of 100 from 289 reviews on WordPress.org. The free plugin includes unlimited agents, 16+ custom field types, guest tickets with a one time password login, working hours and an AI assistant that runs on your own OpenAI or Gemini key.
Its setup wizard has eight steps and will not continue until it creates the support page and gets a sender name and email. The customer form asked for a subject, description and category, plus privacy and terms checkboxes.
My reply went out through a Submit As menu (reply or private note), and the status changed itself to Awaiting customer reply.

Under every ticket, the free version lists what it does not do: email piping for IMAP, Gmail and Microsoft Exchange, automatic workflows, satisfaction surveys and AI auto drafts. The WooCommerce order picker, canned replies, SLA rules and agent assignment rules are paid extensions too.
| Plan | Sites | Yearly list | Lifetime list |
|---|---|---|---|
| Personal | 1 | $79 | $249 |
| Professional | 5 | $149 | $499 |
| Agency | 20 | $299 | $999 |
In late October 2026 its page showed every plan at half price, $39.50 a year or $124.50 lifetime for one site. At list price, the $249 lifetime Personal plan costs less than two years of Fluent Support.

JS Help Desk, the WordPress.org listing named js-support-ticket, has 7,000+ installs and 74 out of 100 from 74 reviews. Version 5.0 moved 12 paid features into the free plugin, including canned responses, internal notes, ticket history, export and AI Powered Reply, which suggests answers from replies your team already wrote.
It created its own portal page on activation and prefilled the logged in customer's name and email on the form, with department, help topic and priority fields.
The agent screen links to every ticket by the same customer and lists keyboard shortcuts for reply, status and notes, next to an AI suggestions panel. The status switched to Replied after my answer.

Its pricing is the simplest here: Pro $99 a year for 1 site, Business $149 for 5, Agency $249 for 25, each with all 9 add-ons. Email piping, the knowledge base, SLA automation and WooCommerce data are those add-ons. The catch is the admin: more than a dozen settings sections, each with its own submenu.
Awesome Support was the default WordPress helpdesk for years. Today it has 6,000+ installs and the lowest score of the four, 70 out of 100 from 194 reviews. Tickets are a custom post type, so the agent screen looks like the WordPress post editor with reply, status and a customer history panel.

One real problem on my test: my existing test customer saw “You are not allowed to submit a ticket” until I added Awesome Support's Support User role to their account. Plan for that on any store or membership site that already has customers.
Paid features come as bundles: Standard $149 a year adds email piping and canned responses, Pro $229 adds WooCommerce, EDD and Envato, Enterprise $289 adds documentation and surveys, and only Agency at $409 includes custom fields, SLAs and the rules engine.
KB Support shows up on older lists, but WordPress.org closed it on 3 April 2025 for a security issue, and it is no longer available to download there. I left it out. If it still runs on your site, plan a move.
SaaS helpdesks charge per agent, every month. Help Scout Standard is $25 per user a month billed yearly ($30 monthly) and Zendesk Support Team is listed at US$19 per agent a month billed yearly. For three agents over three years:
| Tool | 3 agents, 3 years |
|---|---|
| Help Scout Standard | $2,700 |
| Zendesk Support Team | $2,052 |
| Awesome Support Pro bundle | $687 |
| Fluent Support Pro | $387 |
| JS Help Desk Pro | $297 |
| SupportCandy Personal, lifetime | $249 |
| SupportCandy Personal, yearly | $237 |

Help Scout does have a Free plan for up to 5 users, 1 inbox and 1 Docs site. For a tiny team that only needs a shared inbox, that beats every plugin here. The bill starts the moment you need a second inbox or a sixth person.
Install Fluent Support free, run your real tickets through the portal for a week, then upgrade to Pro before you turn on email piping and workflows. It is the one I would put on a client's store.
Fluent Support for most businesses: $129 a year for one site with unlimited agents, email piping and WooCommerce, EDD and LMS data in tickets. SupportCandy is the cheaper pick for small stores.
Yes. Fluent Support, SupportCandy, JS Help Desk and Awesome Support all have free versions with unlimited tickets and agents. JS Help Desk includes the most, with canned responses and internal notes free.
SupportCandy for a small store on a budget, from $79 a year or $249 lifetime list. Fluent Support Pro if you want orders, workflows and several piped inboxes in one desk.
The core plugin is free on WordPress.org with a customer portal, unlimited tickets and agents. Email piping, workflows, saved replies and ecommerce integrations need Pro from $129 a year.
Not on its pricing page. Plans are yearly, $129, $249 or $399, with first year discounts during sales and renewals at list price.
Customers email your support address and the message becomes a ticket. Agent replies go back as email and the customer's answer lands in the same ticket.
For email and web tickets, yes, and for a fraction of the cost: $387 over three years for Fluent Support against $2,052 for three Zendesk Support Team agents. SaaS still wins on live chat, phone and managed delivery.
