Easy Digital Downloads Black Friday 2026, Real Prices

Easy Digital Downloads runs 50 percent off, not 60. Every plan doubles at renewal, and Personal quietly drops the no platform fees line.

Every Easy Digital Downloads Black Friday page I can find, including the version of this one I am replacing, quotes a 60% discount. The real number on EDD's pricing page today is exactly 50%, it is running right now with no code, and it reverses completely at renewal.

That last part is the one that matters. Every EDD plan is introductory pricing, and the footnote at the bottom of the pricing page says all renewals are at full price. Personal is $99.50 now and $199 next year. All Access is $499.50 now and $999 next year. Budget for the second number, not the first.

I went through the pricing page, the comparison table and the FAQ on 22 September 2026. Below are the real prices, the renewal figures, the site limits that surprise people, and one exclusion on the cheapest plan that is worth understanding before you buy it.

The short version

  • 50% off every plan right now, no coupon code needed. Personal $99.50, Extended $199.50, Professional $299.50, All Access $499.50.
  • Every plan doubles at renewal. $199, $399, $599 and $999 from year two.
  • Site limits are low. All Access, the $999 plan, covers three sites. Personal and Extended cover one each.
  • Every site in a multisite network counts separately.
  • Personal is the only plan without EDD's “No Platform Fees” line, and it is also the only paid plan without Stripe Pro.
  • There is a genuinely capable free version, EDD Lite on WordPress.org, which is the right starting point for most people.

What Easy Digital Downloads costs in 2026

Four paid plans and a free one. The struck through figures on the cards are EDD's regular prices, and the prices you pay today are exactly half of them, which is where the 50% comes from and why the 60% figure circulating elsewhere is wrong.

Worth pausing on the site counts. All Access is the flagship plan at $999 a year and it covers three websites. Professional covers two. If you sell digital products across several brands, EDD gets expensive faster than its headline pricing suggests, and the FAQ confirms that every site in a WordPress multisite network counts as a separate site.

Every plan doubles at renewal

This is printed at the bottom of the pricing page in small grey text next to the card logos, which is where nobody looks. Here it is.

Footnote on the Easy Digital Downloads pricing page reading special introductory pricing, all renewals are at full price

“Special introductory pricing, all renewals are at full price.” That is unambiguous, and it means the 50% off is a first year discount rather than a price. Over two years, Personal costs $298.50 and All Access costs $1,498.50.

EDD's own page contradicts itself here, so read both lines

The FAQ says: “Lock in your pricing by keeping your subscription active. If you decide to cancel, you will lose access to support and updates as well as opt-out of your existing pricing.” The footnote says all renewals are at full price. Those two statements pull in opposite directions if you skim them.

The reading that reconciles them is this: your renewal is at the full list price, and what you “lock in” by staying subscribed is that rate, protected against future increases. What you do not lock in is the $99.50. If you cancel and come back later you would be subject to whatever list pricing exists then. I would rather set both statements in front of you than pick whichever one sounds better.

The Personal plan is missing something the others advertise

Easy Digital Downloads markets itself, in its own headline on that page, as the WordPress eCommerce plugin for digital products “without the hidden costs”. Three of the four paid cards carry a line reading No Platform Fees. The Personal card does not.

I checked this two ways because it seemed like an oversight. The phrase appears exactly three times across the four cards, and walking the cards individually returns All Access yes, Professional yes, Extended yes, Personal no. The comparison table further down has the same shape: the Stripe Pro row is ticked for the top three plans and crossed for Personal and for the free Lite version.

What I can and cannot tell you about this

What is verified: EDD does not extend its “No Platform Fees” statement to the Personal plan, and Stripe Pro is excluded from it. What I have not verified, and therefore will not quote, is a specific percentage. I am not going to put a number on this page that I have not seen with my own eyes.

The practical advice is simple. If you are buying Personal to run a real store taking real money, ask EDD support directly what you will be charged per transaction before you pay, because on a store doing any volume a per sale fee swamps the $100 you saved by not buying Extended.

What each tier actually unlocks

The jump that matters for most people is Personal to Extended, because that is where the plugin stops being a download button and starts being a store.

  • Personal, $99.50. Unlimited products, full checkout and cart, Elementor integration, subscriptions and free trials, Stripe, PayPal and Apple Pay, custom discount codes, EU VAT compliance, abandoned cart recovery and AI recommendations. One site.
  • Extended, $199.50. Adds Stripe Pro, Authorize.net and 2Checkout, content restriction, product bundles, customer reviews, Zapier and multi currency. This is the first genuinely complete store tier.
  • Professional, $299.50. Adds software licensing and the API, the multi vendor marketplace, commissions and payouts, wish lists, physical product shipping and post purchase funnels. This is the tier for selling plugins or themes.
  • All Access, $499.50. Adds customer loyalty and rewards, fraud prevention, advanced reports, bulk discount generation, product comparisons and direct customer messaging.

Software licensing sitting at the Professional tier is the detail worth flagging for this site's audience. If you are selling WordPress plugins or themes and need licence keys and automatic updates for your customers, that is $299.50 in year one and $599 after that, not the $99.50 headline.

Start with the free version, genuinely

EDD Lite is on WordPress.org and it is not a crippled demo. It handles products, a cart, checkout, discount codes and file delivery. Core EDD support is free to all users regardless of whether you have paid, which is unusually generous; it is only extension support that requires a licence key.

For a first digital product, Lite plus Stripe will get you selling. Upgrade when you hit a specific wall, whether that is licensing, recurring subscriptions with proper management, or the transaction fee question above. There is a 14 day refund window if you upgrade and change your mind.

Which Easy Digital Downloads plan to buy

Selling a few digital products: Extended, $199.50

I would steer most people here rather than to Personal. It is the first tier with Stripe Pro and EDD's no platform fees commitment, it adds content restriction, bundles and reviews, and it removes the uncertainty about per transaction charges. Renews at $399, so plan for that.

Selling plugins or themes: Professional, $299.50

Software licensing and the licensing API live at this tier, and there is no way to buy them lower down. If you need to issue licence keys and push automatic updates to customers, this is the entry point, at $299.50 now and $599 at renewal, covering two sites.

Testing an idea: Lite, free

Free on WordPress.org, with free core support. Build the store, make a few sales, then buy the tier whose missing feature is actually blocking you. Nobody needs fraud prevention and customer loyalty rewards on day one.

Easy Digital Downloads Black Friday FAQs

Is there an EDD Black Friday deal in 2026?

Easy Digital Downloads runs a standing 50% introductory discount rather than a separate Black Friday price, and it is live now with no coupon code. Personal is $99.50, Extended $199.50, Professional $299.50 and All Access $499.50. If a deeper November offer appears I will update this page with the figure.

Is the Easy Digital Downloads discount really 60%?

No. The discount on the pricing page is exactly 50% on all four plans: $99.50 from $199, $199.50 from $399, $299.50 from $599 and $499.50 from $999. The 60% figure quoted on many pages, including the previous version of this one, is not correct for 2026.

Does Easy Digital Downloads renew at a higher price?

Yes, and it roughly doubles. The footnote on the pricing page reads ‘Special introductory pricing, all renewals are at full price.' Personal renews at $199, Extended at $399, Professional at $599 and All Access at $999.

How many sites does each EDD licence cover?

Personal and Extended cover one site each, Professional covers two and All Access covers three. Every site in a WordPress multisite network counts as a separate site.

Does the EDD Personal plan charge transaction fees?

EDD lists ‘No Platform Fees' on All Access, Professional and Extended, and does not list it on Personal. Stripe Pro is also excluded from Personal. I have not verified a specific fee percentage and will not quote one, so if you are buying Personal for a store taking real money, ask EDD support what you will be charged per transaction before you pay.

Is there a free version of Easy Digital Downloads?

Yes, EDD Lite on WordPress.org. It covers products, cart, checkout, discount codes and file delivery, and core support is free to all users whether or not you have a paid licence. Only extension support requires a licence key.

Which EDD plan includes software licensing?

Professional and All Access. Software licensing and the licensing API are not available on Personal or Extended, so selling plugins or themes with licence keys starts at $299.50 in year one and $599 after that.

What happens if I do not renew my EDD licence?

You lose access to support and updates, and EDD says you also opt out of your existing pricing, meaning you would be subject to list pricing if you came back later. Your store keeps running on the version you have installed, but running an unsupported eCommerce plugin without security updates is a real risk.

Does EDD have a refund policy?

Yes, 14 days, described on the pricing page as no questions asked.

Is EDD better than WooCommerce for digital products?

For digital products specifically, EDD is purpose built and lighter, with file delivery, licensing and download limits as first class features rather than extensions. WooCommerce is the better answer if you sell physical goods, or a mix, or if you need the far larger ecosystem of integrations.

Do I need to pay extra for EDD support?

No for core Easy Digital Downloads, which has free support for everyone including free version users. Yes in effect for extensions, where support requires a valid licence key issued at purchase.

Should I wait for Black Friday to buy EDD?

The 50% discount is already live and has been running as standing introductory pricing rather than a timed sale. Waiting for November has no guaranteed upside, and the more important number is the renewal price either way.
